Autumn School in Flensburg (since 2013)
The Autumn School takes place in Flensburg annually in September. A student group of African students (6 students of each participating African country) become acquainted with German students through visits to innovative firms in Flensburg and the surrounding current trends. Excursions include IT and Logistics Companies (e.g. TNT Express, Flensburg Brewery, Port of Kiel, 17111 Transit, Interschalt, Port of Hamburg, Stadtwerke Flensburg, FSG). In workshops the African and German students of the Bachelor Business Administration with specialization “Business in Africa” develop ideas and solutions for current African challenges in a workshop and analyze success stories from a dynamic continent.
Spring School in Africa (since 2014)
The Spring School takes place revolving in different African countries. Host have been Douala (Cameroon), Nairobi (Kenya) and Mekele (Ethiopia) so far. A student group gets a localized view on ideas and solutions to current challenges that exist in the use of IT in Africa. German and African students discuss in workshops on the latest trends, visit innovative firms (e.g. MTN, Camlait, Seven seas, Safaricom) and go on excursions for truly intercultural experiences.
