Workshop “Supply Chains, Sustainability and the Base of the Pyramid” in Flensburg

Flensburg, 28/08/2020: Marcus Brandenburg has hosted a research workshop on “Supply Chains, Sustainability and the Base of the Pyramid” in Flensburg in the last week of August (Aug 25-28, 2020).

Issues of (sustainable) supply chains in emerging economies and developing countries were presented by and discussed with Nelly Oelze and Ronak Warasthe (both from CBTA) and researchers from University of Kassel, University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde and Nuremberg Tech. In addition, members from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan, and Ethiopian Institute of Textile & Fashion Technology, Ethiopia, actively participated online thereby reflecting travel restrictions caused by the Covid19 pandemic.

An excursion to Schloss Glücksburg complemented the scientific program. The workshop was a joint initiative of the two projects “Sustainable Textile Supply Chains in Ethiopia and Germany” and “Exploring Focal Firm‘s Performance Features in BoP Supply Chain Management – Taking the Case of Pakistan” which are both funded by German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, DAAD).
