    • Data collection to identify skill levels, existing training needs, as well as existing training capacities and training opportunities in companies
    • Comparative analysis of the German and South African vocational training systems for the determination of country-specific transfer options and elements adapted to the South African basic conditions
  • Development of
    • An implementation concept for a demand-oriented pilot study course for TVET teachers at the partner university in South Africa
    • An implementation concept for an innovated vocational training
  • Establishment of a multilateral partnership between scientific and economic actors for sustainable international VET cooperation

The implementation concepts will support the modernization and further development of South Africa’s vocational education system. The results of the research will provide basic conditions for knowledge transfer between Germany and South Africa by opening up further fields of cooperation. The results will contribute to secure the availability of skilled labour through capacity building and to professionalisation of the vocational training personnel.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the Internationalisation of vocational education and training programme.
