Project Cape-VET South Africa

Flensburg/South Africa, 11/05/2022: In South Africa, there was a survey to small but also larger companies such as Mercedes SA and Volkswagen SA.
The topic was the requirements of the TVET colleges in the context of doctoral projects and project assignments.

TVET is an abbreviation for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. Technical and Vocational Education and Training courses are vocational or occupational by nature meaning that the student receives education and training with a view towards a specific range of jobs, employment or entrepreneurial possibilities.  Under certain conditions, some students may qualify for admission to a University of Technology to continue their studies at a higher level in the same field of study as they were studying at the TVET College.

The companies were very grateful for insights into the TVET colleges and private sector alignment. There was a high level of interest in the topic from the participating and interviewed companies. Overall, the event was very successful and the atmosphere was good throughout.

Kay Pfaffenberger and Martin Kuehn from CBTA visited the Technical Learning Academy (TLA) on site during their trip to South Africa.
