Flensburg, 17/11/2021: On 9 December, the opening event “It’s Time for Africa” will take place at the Centre for Environmental Communication of the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt in Osnabrück. Under patron Stephan Weil, Minister President of Lower Saxony, the event will focus on Africa as a continent of opportunity: energy, science and infrastructure.
The Centre for Business and Technology in Africa will be represented by the participation of Stefan Liebing. Andreas Freytag will also be present as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Africa Association, of which Stefan Liebing is chairman.
Planned are a video talk on solar energy, especially on Mauritius, and information on science communication between Africa and Europe. Moving images as an instrument of development policy will also be discussed.
Liebing and Freytag will talk about Africa in German science and science in Africa from the perspective of the universities in Flensburg, Jena and Stellenbosch.
After the event, participants will visit the Osnabrück Christmas market together, accompanied by the media: Die Zeit, NDR and FAZ.
