Networking in South Africa
Kapstadt, 15/04/2016: While attending the Domestic Use of Energy Conference (DUE) which took place between the 29th and 31st of March, the Wind Energy Technology Institute (WETI) of Flensburg and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) agreed to a stronger cooperation in the field of wind energy. The main focus of the cooperation lies on the networking and exchange of science and teaching and also on the shared development of research areas and master theses. The South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC) which belongs to the CPUT, will also be part of the cooperation as it offers topic-related trainings and workshops for renewable energies.
Prof. Torsten Faber from Flensburg said that the cooperation between the universities helps them both to learn from each other and provides the opportunity to build up a stronger network for the international academic education which is especially important since 12 out of 19 students of the wind energy program in Flensburg are foreign.
