Local experts needed in times of crisis
26/05/2014, Windhoek: How traditional logistics can provide the basis for the humanitarian logistics that are needed in times of crisis is discussed in an article by Janntje Böhlke-Itzen which was published in the AZ Namibia last week.
It calls for the need of locally trained experts who are familiar with the potential crisis zone so that in case of a crisis relief supplies can be provided and delivered as fast as possible.
Steps were already taken for example at a conference last year at the Namibian-German Centre for Logistics (NGCL) that dealt with turbulence and risks lying in Namibian logistics.
The whole article (in German) is available at AZ Nambia.
