Cape Town, 05/04/2023: On 5 April, an event was held at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in South Africa under the motto “Exploring International partnerships for community engagement”. The meeting took place in the context of the “Service-Learning & Civic Engagement Units”.
On its website, the CPUT states: “The main role of the Civic Engagement Unit is to provide a holistic institutional picture of non-curricular community-based activities carried out by both staff and students of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The unit also provides support for the initiation of non-curricular activities by students through facilitating partnerships with NGOs, departments, the private sector and communities.”
As an international guest, Kay Pfaffenberger represented the CBTA on site and gave his input on the development of an online course on start-ups, entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education (Moodle programme) and general
business management.
The event was a great success and there will be a follow-up meeting with the manager of the Service-Learning & Civic Engagement Units, Jacqueline Scheepers-Searle, in Flensburg on 25 April.
