Final conference of the PEESA III project: Date and details

Flensburg, 10/08/2021: The final conference of the PEESA III project, which was postponed for more than a year due to the Corona epidemic, can now take place. Since South Africa is no longer listed as a virus variant area and the infection figures have recently decreased, the conference will take place from September 6th to September 10th in Cape Town at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and the Centre for Business and Technology in Africa will thus be able to visit their South African partner universities again after more than 1 ¾ years and discuss the past challenging period. The conference also gives the opportunity to follow up on the personnel changes that have taken place in some positions during this time and to establish and renew personal contacts.

The CBTA will be represented by a delegation that is diverse, comes from many disciplines and aims to establish new projects and contacts with the South African partners. In addition, the delegation would like to get an overview of the current situation on the ground, also from the point of view of exchange.

The CBTA’s close contacts to the Afrikaverein der Deutschen Wirtschaft and the German Embassy have made it possible to set up a safe and good travel plan. We are excited and pleased to be able to take away direct impressions of the situation in Africa’s largest economy and thus also to be able to pave the way for the resumption of an exchange that we very much desire and of the participatory approach of the respective learner from the experiences of our partners finally in a personal and confidential interaction.

Topics will include the State-of-the-art of Engineering Education by Prof. Chris Winberg, Regional Innovation initiatives and university-business cooperation by Ryan Ravens and Digital Education Impact on Post-C19: Challenges and Trends by Ronny Adhikarya. Further topics are yet to be announced. For more details, the most recent agenda is attached below.
