Flensburg, 01/11/2021: The Centre for Business and Technology in Africa (CBTA) is pleased to announce that our member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Torsten Faber successfully celebrated the 10+1 year anniversary of the Wind Energy Technology Institute (WETI) on Monday, 1 November 2021, with numerous companions from business and politics.
Prof. Dr. Faber is the founder and director of WETI. Together with his colleagues Prof. Dr. Clemens Jauch and Prof. Dr.-Ing. David Schlipf, Torsten Faber heads the internationally recognised teaching and research institute at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences. Coinciding with the climate conference in Glasgow, the anniversary celebration showed how WETI can make its contribution to the global energy transition in both education and applied research. The institute presented innovations in close cooperation with the industry on wind energy generation and its further development – in line with the motto: “In Flensburg at home and together with students from all over the world!”
The CBTA team was particularly pleased that our member Prof. Dr. Bernd Möller, who is also co-responsible for the research on sustainable energy systems at ZNES, brought words of greeting and thankson behalf of the European University of Flensburg.
The challenges of climate neutrality play a particularly important role in Africa, exemplary for Emerging Economies. The African continent is therefore increasingly relying on wind energy projects for energy generation.
We are convinced that the successful and pioneering cooperation between the centres is a good example not only for Flensburg’s universities. We are pleased about the great commitment that Prof. Faber and his team have shown in the 10+1 years and are excited about the innovations of the next 10 years!
