Meeting with German ambassadors in Kenya and South Africa

Berlin, 15/09/2022: Prof. Dr. Kay Pfaffenberger took advantage of the start of the winter semester to meet both the new German ambassadors in Kenya and South Africa, Andreas Peschke (South Africa) and Sebastian Groth (pictured/Kenya), at an event organised by the German-African Business Association. Both countries are main target countries not only for project-related activities and cooperations of the Centre for Business and Technology in Africa (CBTA) in Africa.

The following day, Prof. Pfaffenberger had the opportunity to meet Dr. Karamba Diaby in person. Dr. Diaby heads the Africa discussion group of the SPD parliamentary group in the German Bundestag and is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee as well as a member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development. He is a member of his party’s parliamentary group executive. Both discussed about the HAW-AWI initiative and the current funding of projects by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which is currently challenging.
