Memorandum of Understanding with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology

11/11/2013, Nairobi/Juja: Flensburg University of Applied Sciences and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology have signed a memorandum of understanding. The first activity shall be to plan for a Data Science Centre.

The Kenyan-German Centre for Data Science will serve to strengthen applied research in the Master programme and to intensify the capability of students and staff in doing practically oriented thesis, seminars, workshops and project courses. This will be done via technology transfer projects with industry, as well as applied research studies. A further service of the Centre will be training courses for life-long-learning.

The Master in Business Computing will integrate common teaching modules, exchange of lecturers, exchange of students, an Autumn School in Flensburg, a Spring School in Africa (revolving in Kenya and Namibia) and workshops involving regional companies. The Master will be build upon the experiences and achievements of the Namibian and German partners made during a DAAD-funded subject-related partnership in 2005-2008.
