Flensburg, 25\/04\/2025: We are very pleased to announce a great success: Marc Alexander B\u00fclk, graduate of the Master’s program in Business Management at Hochschule Flensburg, was awarded the BME Science Award 2025 in the category \u201cFH theses\u201d. His Master’s thesis in Sustainable and Digital Supply Chain Management deals with the effects of the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz – LkSG) on indirectly affected upstream suppliers – a highly topical and socially relevant issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. habil. Marcus Brandenburg, CBTA member and Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, an empirical-quantitative study was carried out to investigate the extent to which smaller companies without a direct legal obligation are also affected by the LkSG. In addition to identifying positive and negative effects, the study also sheds light on factors that determine whether a company is indirectly affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The award was presented at the 18th Scientific Symposium \u201cSupply Management\u201d of the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME) in Mannheim. In addition to Marc Alexander B\u00fclk, work from TU Dresden and TU Dortmund was also honored. The jury particularly praised the practical approach and sound methodology of the Flensburg work – proof of the high quality of applied research at universities of applied sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the prize for Mr. B\u00fclk, the supervising professorship at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences also received prize money in the amount of 1,000 euros – further recognition for its commitment to promoting young scientists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
