{"id":6353,"date":"2024-01-15T22:36:45","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T20:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.wi.hs-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/?p=6353"},"modified":"2024-01-16T00:11:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T22:11:04","slug":"project-launch-community-engagement-in-higher-education-in-the-southern-africa-region-cesar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.wi.hs-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/project-launch-community-engagement-in-higher-education-in-the-southern-africa-region-cesar\/","title":{"rendered":"Project launch &#8220;Community Engagement in Higher Education in the Southern Africa Region (CESAR)&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Flensburg\/Cape Town\/Windhoek, 15\/01\/2024: The Centre for Business and Technology in Africa (CBTA), the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cput.ac.za\/\">Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)<\/a> in Cape Town and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nust.na\/\">Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST)<\/a> in Windhoek have initiated the project \u201cCommunity Engagement in Higher Education in the Southern Africa Region (CESAR)\u201d and have been selected for funding by DAAD in the SDG-Partnerships programme. The project focuses on Community Engagement, aiming to foster collaboration between the academic institutions and the local communities. The CBTA, NUST, and CPUT will work together to develop strategies and initiatives that enhance community involvement, address societal needs, and promote sustainable development. The project aims to contribute to the attainment of SDGs in South Africa and Namibia by supporting community engagement social entrepreneurship initiatives in the fields of SDG 6 \u201cAffordable and clean energy\u201d, SDG 7 \u201cClean water and sanitation\u201d, and SDG 11 \u201cSustainable cities and communities\u201d within the context of Southern Africa. SDG 17 \u201cPartnerships for the goals\u201d will be the foundation on which the fields of action, namely Teaching, Research and Management will be addressed.
