{"id":5951,"date":"2022-10-25T12:29:30","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T10:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.wi.hs-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/?p=5951"},"modified":"2023-03-29T21:33:31","modified_gmt":"2023-03-29T19:33:31","slug":"mobile-school-of-daad-climate-centre-trajects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.wi.hs-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/mobile-school-of-daad-climate-centre-trajects\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobile school of DAAD Climate Centre TRAJECTS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Flensburg, 25\/10\/2022: Participants of TRAJECTS&#8217; mobile school in October learn about the challenges of coal dependency in Mpumalanga (South Africa) and imagine a vision for a just transition in the province.<br><br>The Transnational Centre for Just Transitions in Energy, Climate and Sustainability (TRAJECTS) is one of the four DAAD-funded Global Climate and Environment Centres. Its aim is to support and strengthen transcontinental exchange, research, and education on transitions towards a sustainable future.<br><br>TRAJECTS main objective is to focus on climate change mitigation in the following key sustainability just transition areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fossil fuel phase-out and shift towards post-fossil energy system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fundamental shifts in land use and management, as well as ecosystem protection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the complexity of these issues, TRAJECTS groups a large diversity of expertise and actors, offering local as well as transnational answers and perspectives towards just transitions necessary to protect our shared climate and environment and achieve a sustainable future. <br><br>Besides the DAAD Climate Centre, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.znes-flensburg.de\/person\/oei-pao-yu?language=en\">Prof. Dr. Pao-Yu Oei<\/a> as Professor for &#8220;Economics of the Transformation of Energy Systems&#8221; at the European University Flensburg (EUF) also heads both the degree programme &#8220;Industrial Engineering: Energy and Environmental Management&#8221; and the 30-member research group &#8220;CoalExit&#8221; at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-flensburg.de\/en\/\">EUF<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tu.berlin\/en\/\">TU Berlin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diw.de\/en\">DIW Berlin<\/a>.
