{"id":3028,"date":"2016-03-14T16:09:06","date_gmt":"2016-03-14T14:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www2.wi.fh-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/?p=3028"},"modified":"2018-03-16T11:23:03","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T09:23:03","slug":"ngcl-launches-seminar-series-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.wi.hs-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/ngcl-launches-seminar-series-3\/","title":{"rendered":"NGCL launches Seminar Series"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>NGCL launches Seminar Series<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Windhoek, 14\/03\/2016:\u00a0<\/strong> The Namibian-German Centre for Logistics (NGCL), which was founded by the Namibia University Of Science and Technology, just launched a seminar research series that is designed to discuss research ideas towards creating new knowledge and tools of long-term interest to the transport and logistics community in practice. This project will be a regular component in the NGCL calendar and it started out with already two successful seminars.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kenneth Odero\u00a0hosted the first seminar on &#8220;The State of Logistics in Namibia: A Book Project Proposal&#8221; which illustrated the actual situation in Namibia and why\u00a0this situation needs to change and how to do it.<\/p>\n<p>The second\u00a0seminar was held by Prof. Dr. Schmidt who made a provoking presentation on &#8220;Logistic Analytics: From Traditional Reports to Big Data&#8221; which addressed the fact that, due to the growing use of mobile business intelligence, the changing processes of decision-making in electronic form and the use of rapid technologies and applications, the traditional reporting needs to alter in order to keep up with the changes.
