The presence of high-ranking dignitaries who opened the four-day event embodied the importance of the event: The Honourable Kilus Nguvauva Deputy-Minister of Works and Transport, the Rector of the Polytechnic of namibia, Professor Tjama Tjivikua, Mrs. Annegret Al-Janabi the Counsellor for Development Cooperation at the German Embassy and Dr. Corinna Haeger, representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
