{"id":4670,"date":"2019-10-11T17:35:51","date_gmt":"2019-10-11T15:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www2.wi.fh-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/?page_id=4670"},"modified":"2020-02-02T00:47:40","modified_gmt":"2020-02-01T22:47:40","slug":"cape-vet-technical-and-vocational-training-capacity-building-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www2.wi.hs-flensburg.de\/africacentre\/projects\/cape-vet-technical-and-vocational-training-capacity-building-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Cape-VET \u2013 Vocational Training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical and Vocational Training Capacity building in South Africa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project Technical and Vocational Training Capacity building in South Africa (Cape- VET) aims to improve the training structure for\nqualification and professionalization of vocational training personnel in South\nAfrica in cooperation with German partners from science and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the framework of the project, co-operative\nresearch on conditions for designing effective higher education qualification programs\nfor vocational education personnel is conducted. More precisely, country\nspecific requirements are analysed by a German-South African research group in\norder to establish these programs added with\nadaptable transfer elements from the German VET-System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sub goals of the project are: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Conducting <ul><li>Analysis of country-specific economic, political and vocational training structures in South Africa, including a baseline of best practice examples<\/li><li>Data collection to identify skill levels, existing training needs, as well as existing training capacities and training opportunities in companies<\/li><li>Comparative analysis of the German and South African vocational training systems for the determination of country-specific transfer options and elements adapted to the South African basic conditions<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Development of  <ul><li>An implementation concept for a demand-oriented pilot study course for TVET&nbsp;teachers at the partner university in South Africa  <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>An implementation concept for an innovated vocational training<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Establishment of a\nmultilateral partnership between scientific and economic actors for sustainable\ninternational VET cooperation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nimplementation concepts will support the modernization and further development\nof South Africa\u2019s vocational education system. The results of the research will\nprovide basic conditions for knowledge transfer between Germany and South\nAfrica by opening up further fields of cooperation.
