Our Namibian Partner in Windhoek, the Polytechnic of Namibia, has recently turned into the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). In order to support this transformation we have established the DIES partnership with the NUST supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This partnership shall support the transformation process in six distinct focus areas:<\/p>\n

  1. Internal structure \u2013 schools, centres and institutes<\/li>\n
  2. Human resources<\/li>\n
  3. Quality assurance<\/li>\n
  4. Research capacity<\/li>\n
  5. Industry cooperation and research<\/li>\n
  6. Integration of technologies in teaching, learning and assessment (TLA)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The partners will do an interdisciplinary approach between the universities in order to develop and implement an action plan based on SWOT analysises in every focus area. The process will include discussions on case studies and visits to Germany for the NUST’s senior management to learn from the practices at hand.<\/p>\n
